Schoolmaster Pony:
Dancing Bear ("Bear") came to me in
2001 as a sale pony. He had belonged to a family and their youngest
daughter, who was 11. I had Bear here for approximately 2 months,
and the family chose to sell him to a buyer whom they had been in
touch with (this was not a match that I made). The buyers bought
Bear for their 7 yo daughter, as I understand it.
Bear also went to NC for a month,
where it was determined that he just wasn't happy jumping. (He's
really good at dumping riders into fences, he's safe on the flat,
but he's a fearful jumper, and is therefore unsafe for jumping). He
also is 19 yo, and earns his keep here teaching students groundwork
and dressage. He is safe for trail riding for an intermediate rider.
Sometimes, we ride on trail as part of a lesson, or if it's nice
out, we may go for a walk down the driveway to walk-out. Bear is a
good citizen, and always enjoys carrots and affection.
Bear is registered with the AQHA
(American Quarter Horse Association), his registered name is "Babe's
Creation". He is a 14.2hh Silver Grulla gelding with a star and two
hind socks to the ankles. He holds a lifetime measurement card with
MHSA. He is not currently for sale as he is part of the backbone of
this program. He has a good home with us for the rest of his days.
He goes english, western, dressage, and bareback. He free longes
w/voice commands for anyone (if you ask him correctly!), he targets
muzzle, he volunteers to be haltered, and in general, he has good
manners. |
